Common use
Meloset is commonly used to help with jet lag, trouble sleeping and to reset the circadian rhythm.
Dosage and direction
Short-term use for trouble falling asleep (insomnia) - In general, the Meloset dose in adults is 3 mg to 5 mg, taken 30 minutes before bedtime. Meloset to help with sleep is for occasional short-term use. The recommended dose of Meloset for jet lag ranges from 0.5 to 5 mg at bedtime taken after your arrival in the new time zone for several days, or until you adjust.
Precautions
This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Patients with kidney and liver problems should exercise caution while taking medicine.
Contraindications
Meloset is contraindicated in patients with known allergies to melatonin and in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Possible side effect
Side effects of Meloset: Headache; Abnormal dreams; Dizziness; Drowsiness.
Drug interaction
Meloset may interact with an antidepressant (fluvoxamine), a psoriasis medicine (psoralens), an antacid (cimetidine), a hormone (estrogen), an antibiotic (rifampicin), an anticonvulsant (carbamazepine), sleep aids (midazolam, temazepam, zaleplon, zolpidem, zopiclone), and a blood thinner (warfarin).
Missed dose
If you forget to take this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. But avoid repeating the dose.
Overdose
Contact your doctor if you take more Meloset than you should.
Storage
Store Meloset in room temperature. Keep Meloset out of the reach of children and pets.
